On the evening of October 15, a 32-year-old man identified only as Mr. A was seriously injured when an asthma inhaler he had mistakenly used as fuel exploded in his charcoal stove. Rescue workers from the Buddhist Sahathai Rescue Unit responded to the scene in Ban Chumnum Sung, Moo 7, Tambon Thung Khwai Kin, Klaeng District, Rayong Province, where they found Mr. A with severe lacerations to his testicles and heavy bleeding. He was given first aid and rushed to Klaeng Hospital for urgent treatment. Investigation revealed that Mr. A had collected firewood and picked up a plastic bag he thought was ordinary trash, unaware it contained an old asthma inhaler and some diabetes medication packets. When the bag was thrown into the fire, the inhaler exploded, sending fragments that struck his groin. The owner of the inhaler, 54-year-old Mr. Boonlern (surname withheld), said he had discarded the device and was unaware it had been reused as fuel.
