Man Sentenced to Death in Motorcycle Bomb Case
A Narathiwat court has sentenced a man to 50 years imprisonment after finding him guilty of hiding a bomb in a motorcycle that exploded near Mueang District in 2016, killing and injuring multiple people.
On September 22, 2025, the ISOC Spokesperson's Facebook page announced that Narathiwat Provincial Court has sentenced a defendant to death in a case involving a bomb hidden in a motorcycle that was parked near Lammai Utit Lane in Mueang District, Narathiwat, on April 25, 2016. The court found the defendant guilty of terrorism, armed robbery, murder, and attempted murder with premeditation, as well as violations of firearms and explosives laws. However, following the defendant's confession, the court reduced the sentence by half, resulting in 50 years imprisonment, with the defendant remaining in custody during the appeals process. The verdict is from the first-instance court, and the defendant retains the right to appeal according to the law.
