Four Sentenced to Death in Sai Buri Bombing That Killed Civilian
Four men convicted of a 2022 bombing in Pattani that killed a civilian and wounded three bomb disposal officers had their death sentences reduced to life imprisonment after confessing and cooperating with investigators.
On September 24, 2026, Pattani Provincial Court delivered its verdict in case number 106/69, stemming from a bombing incident on April 15, 2022, in Moo 8, Paan subdistrict, Sai Buri district, Pattani province. The blast killed Navee Pamon and injured three explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) officers who had been lured to the scene under false pretenses.
The four defendants—Mouli (surname withheld), Suliman (surname withheld), Azming (surname withheld), and Wayang (surname withheld)—faced multiple serious charges including terrorism, banditry, premeditated murder, attempted murder of officials, and violations of the law on suppression of international organized crime. Evidence firmly established their joint involvement in the bombing.
The court initially sentenced all four to death. However, because they confessed and cooperated with the investigation, their sentences were reduced by half to life imprisonment. All four defendants remain in custody pending appeal.
