Thai Teen Swimmer Breaks National Record at Asian Games
Thai swimmer Pimpchonok Chinveeraphun, 14, broke the national record in the women's 200-meter breaststroke at the Asian Games in Japan with a time of 2:28.00.
Pimpchonok Chinveeraphun, a 14-year-old Thai swimmer, has set a new national record in the women's 200-meter breaststroke at the 20th Asian Games in Japan. Competing at the Tokyo Aquatics Center on September 24, the talented young swimmer from Thailand's national team clocked 2 minutes 28 seconds, shattering the previous Thai national record and the age-group record for 14–15-year-olds. Pimpchonok finished fifth in the race with a time of 2:28.00, breaking both records in the process. Gold was won by Japan's Koto Kato with 2:22.57, silver went to South Korea's Park Chi-eun at 2:22.69, and bronze was taken by China's Zhu Leyou at 2:25.51.
