Thai Men's Football Preps for China Quarterfinal at 2026 Asian Games
Thailand's men's football team prepares for a quarterfinal matchup against China at the 2026 Asian Games on September 26, with forward Jehadfahy Mama expressing confidence despite China's strength and experience.
Thailand's men's football team, coached by Wanchai Damrongaongtraku, continued intensive training on September 24 at Itsutsugaoka Sports Square in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, to prepare for their quarterfinal against China at the 2026 Asian Games. Thailand qualified as Group A runners-up with 6 points from three matches and will face China, the group champions with 5 points.
Forward Jehadfahy Mama said the team achieved their goal of advancing despite an unsatisfactory final group match. "Everyone is confident now," he stated. "Against China, we need to focus on our training and the coach's tactical plan. We hope to win in the quarterfinal. I've faced China before—they're a strong team with experience and quality, so we hope to compete well against them."
Mama expressed confidence in scoring and credited the team's self-belief. "Everyone has confidence in our team's potential. We want fans to support us, whether through live broadcasts or by coming to the stadium."
Thailand will face China in the men's football quarterfinal at Toyota Stadium on September 26 at 1:00 p.m., with live coverage on Channel 32 and the AIS PLAY application.
