Man With Metal Rod Breaches School; Teachers Restrain Him
A man carrying a metal rod breached Lom Sak Wittayakhom School in Phetchabun Province on September 8, but teachers quickly disarmed and restrained him before police arrived, preventing potential harm to students.
At 1 p.m. on September 8, 2026, Lom Sak Police in Phetchabun Province received a report from teachers at Lom Sak Wittayakhom School that a man showing signs of mental distress had breached the school fence while carrying a metal rod, raising concerns for the safety of staff and students.
Police coordinated with Senior Sergeant Niti Saart Wan Peng and Sergeant Theerphon Jan Muae from the Motorcycle Unit, Patrol Zone 101, to investigate and detain the individual in order to maintain public order and safety.
Investigation revealed that the man had sneaked through the fence on the side near Samakkiwattana Temple on Phitthak Road. Male teachers who spotted him immediately intervened, wrestling the metal rod from his hands and restraining him before police and rescue personnel arrived on scene.
Unable to communicate coherently at first, the man was transported to Lom Sak Hospital for medical assessment and further processing. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, thanks to the decisive action of the male teachers who disarmed him. Without their intervention, students could have been seriously harmed.
