Mitsubishi Foundation Launches Science Learning Program for Thai Youth
Mitsubishi Foundation's 11th annual Science Classroom program brought hands-on learning to over 50 students in Rayong, using engineering challenges, circuit experiments, and robot navigation to develop problem-solving skills beyond the text
The Mitsubishi Electric Thailand Foundation and Mitsubishi Electric Thailand Auto-Parts Company are advancing sustainable community growth through science education, continuing their "Science Classroom" initiative for the 11th consecutive year. This year's program was held at Ban Mab Yang Phon School in Rayong province, offering educational opportunities to over 50 Grade 6 students. In partnership with EEC Automation Park, the school was transformed into a mini science laboratory where students learned through three hands-on activities. The "Tower-Building Mission" taught engineering design, planning, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. The "Basic Electrical Circuit" activity introduced students to circuit principles through practical experiments with various conductive materials. The "Mecanum Wheel Robot Control" station allowed students to learn robotic movement and direction control by designing LEGO obstacles and navigating the robot through predetermined paths. Takaharu Ekuji, president of Mitsubishi Electric Thailand Auto-Parts Company, emphasized the company's commitment to engaging children in both theoretical and practical learning outside the classroom, transforming their surroundings into exciting experiments to show that science and technology extend beyond textbooks and to encourage creative thinking, questioning, analysis, and independent problem-solving. Student Punnanat Panji (nickname Tennis), Grade 6, expressed enthusiasm for the tower-building activity, highlighting the value of teamwork and confidence in design. Student Chirawun Paidong (nickname Earn), also Grade 6, praised all activities for providing knowledge, enjoyment, and opportunities to experiment with various concepts.
