The roar of an accelerating engine echoed as a Kawasaki Z800 motorcycle veered off a canal bridge, and a 32-year-old rider was thrown to his death. Police received the report at 1:30 a.m. on September 12, 2025, when a big bike motorcycle crashed and overturned on the Luam Phai Canal Bridge near the Palasinthorn Road intersection in Anusawari subdistrict, Bang Khen district, Bangkok. Officers rushed to investigate alongside emergency medical staff from Erawan Center Bangkok and Thai Red Cross volunteers.
At the scene, they found a green and black Kawasaki Z800 motorcycle, registered in Bangkok, overturned with a crushed fuel tank. The rider had sustained severe injuries, was unconscious, and lay on the ground near the bridge entrance. Staff immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for over 30 minutes, but the rider, identified as Natthawut (surname withheld), 32 years old, died shortly after. He was wearing a full motorcycle helmet, black short-sleeved shirt, and long jeans. His body showed a broken neck, a deformed right arm fracture, and facial lacerations covered in blood. Officers collected evidence from the scene.
According to witness testimony, the motorcycle was heard accelerating loudly from Prasertmanukit Road (Kaset-Nawamin) before crashing on the Luam Phai Canal Bridge. When the witness went to investigate, the overturned motorcycle was visible, but the rider was not nearby. The witness searched for more than 10 minutes before finding the rider unconscious on the ground near the bridge entrance and immediately called for emergency assistance and CPR efforts.
Initial findings suggest the motorcycle was traveling at high speed when it flew off the bridge, lost control, and struck the concrete edge hard, throwing the rider onto the pavement with fatal injuries. Authorities are reviewing closed-circuit television footage as evidence. The body was taken to Police General Phumiphol Hospital for autopsy before being released to relatives for religious rites.
