National Police Chief Leads Board Review of 156 Senior Officer Posts
Thailand's National Police Chief will lead a board review on August 21 to fill 156 vacant senior officer positions, including 3 deputy national commander posts and 19 provincial commander roles.
National Police Chief General Kittirati Punpech announced that a screening board meeting chaired by him will convene on August 21 to review candidates for senior police positions. The board includes deputy national police commanders and representatives from the Civil Service Commission and will examine qualified candidates for promotion from inspector-general through provincial commander ranks, known as 'high-ranking general officers.' This year, 156 senior positions are vacant, including 3 deputy national police commander posts, 6 assistant national police commander positions, 19 provincial commander roles, 41 deputy provincial commander positions, and 90 regional commander posts. Promotions by seniority include: Noppawat Ariyangkul, Thanapol Srisopha, and Krisada Surachetpong as assistant national police commanders. Provincial commander promotions include Santi Chaianiramya, Nithithorn Jintakannoth, Archon Kraitong, Kritsagorn Pleedhanyavongse, Pisit Tanapreserith, and Kritthapol Yisakhon. Several provincial commanders will remain in their current positions, while other officers will be transferred or promoted to various regional and specialized command roles based on seniority and the national police chief's personnel decisions.
