New Action Series 'Song Song Tai' Stars Mike Thongraya, Esther Supreeleela
Channel 7HD launches action drama "Song Song Tai" starring Mike Thongraya as a betrayed sniper-turned-assassin and Esther Supreeleela in her first network role as a nurse caught in his crossfire.
Channel 7HD is broadcasting the new action drama "Song Song Tai" from 9 Beaver Films, produced by Oliver Bever. The series showcases a new pairing: Mike Thongraya as Gun, a former sniper who becomes an assassin, and Esther Supreeleela as Rada, a compassionate nurse — her first project with Channel 7HD. The supporting cast features Ben Santirarat (Methee), Moo Phusana (Sarawut), Turke Natchanon (At), Tot Rawisacha (Than), Paul Daobot (Mark), Earth Nattanan (Decha), Wit Phuttharit (Phaisan), Pond Opaphum (Harn), Bigben Nawathan (Thong Yang), and newcomer Wayu Nithi (Pad) from TSM Management, alongside veterans Johnny Anfone (Seihan) and Namfon Suwansuda (Sirinthorn), returning to Channel 7HD after many years.
Written and directed by Jittapatch Athichaitanaruj, the story follows Gun (Mike), a former sniper turned hitman who is betrayed, loses his only loved one, and is hunted by a criminal organization. While on the run, he must protect Rada (Esther), a nurse who becomes entangled unwittingly. Their closeness turns to love, and to protect her, he switches from prey to hunter, eliminating the wicked — unaware he is being betrayed by the person closest to him.
Mike said the character is a cool, ruthless sniper who takes contracts to kill wrongdoers in the gray underworld. He was delighted to work with Esther, having watched her previous dramatic roles and fun TikTok clips, which made him feel they would click easily. On set, she was adorable and professional; they synced quickly. Since Esther had never handled firearms before, she was initially nervous, but the cast and crew encouraged her, and Mike personally coached her. She soon grew comfortable and can now take on more action roles.
Esther thanked Channel 7HD for the opportunity. She found the fresh, unfamiliar storyline exciting and enjoyed meeting new colleagues. The first workshop felt like starting at a new school since she hadn't worked with any of the mostly male cast before. The script demanded heavy preparation, with action cues in nearly every scene. Her character, Rada, is a kind, gentle psychiatric nurse who crosses paths with Mike's Gun, leading to a series of events where she mostly runs from explosions and bullets within his action sequences. Esther praised Mike as a caring, professional gentleman who supported and taught her action scenes. While she had done minor fight scenes before, "Song Song Tai" is 95% action — a must-watch for anyone who hasn't seen her in combat.
