A Navy petty officer's beer bottle attack left a woman needing 27 stitches in Sattahip; the Navy commander
N.S. Pharada, 33, went public via media after sustaining injuries from a brawl in which she was struck by beer bottle shards on her right chest, leaving a severe wound requiring over 27 stitches. The incident occurred on October 30 along Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. Ms. Pharada stated she was walking back to her car when she saw acquaintances fighting and tried to intervene, only to be caught in the crossfire. She identified the attacker as a Navy petty officer first class who smashed a beer bottle over another person's head; the flying glass struck her chest. Following the incident, the victim reported the case to Sattahip Police Station and sought compensation for medical bills from the assailant, who claimed he had no money and then became unreachable, forcing her to pay for her own treatment and wound care. Recently, Rear Admiral Chakawat Saiwong, Commander of Frigate Squadron 2, Naval Operations Command, visited the victim along with his staff to offer moral support and interview her. He confirmed the case must follow evidence and legal procedures, and that if military disciplinary offenses are found, the perpetrator will be punished according to regulations; the Navy will absolutely not shield wrongdoers. Meanwhile, Pol. Lt. Col. Phongphisut Mahasarakul, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Sattahip Police Station, is preparing to summon the naval personnel involved for questioning to proceed with legal action.
