Phatthalung Man Wins 12 Million Baht Lottery Prize
A 33-year-old grocery shop owner from Phatthalung won 12 million baht in the government lottery after buying 18 tickets from his usual vendor, which will help the family clear debts and pursue long-held business dreams.
A man from Mae Khri in Phatthalung has won the first prize of 12 million baht in the government lottery, with his wife overjoyed at the news and already planning their family's future.
Following the Government Lottery Office's draw on September 16, 2026, the first prize winning ticket number 730640 transformed several people into millionaires overnight. In Phatthalung province, one lucky winner was Watchrakor Thongmak, known as Om, a 33-year-old from Mae Khri subdistrict in Tha Mohd district. He and his wife Sudadoang Inraspong, known as Mind, also 33, reside in Moo 1, Mae Khri.
Watchrakor explained that he regularly buys lottery tickets from local vendors, always purchasing in the final days before the draw. On this occasion, he called his usual vendor asking how many tickets remained. Hearing there were 18 left, he decided to buy them all. The vendor charged him for 16 tickets and threw in 2 complimentary ones as a loyal customer bonus, without specifying which numbers. Watchrakor did not select specific numbers.
When the results were announced and he learned he had won the first prize, he was thrilled. His wife was equally delighted when she called to confirm the news. Just the day before, on September 15, the couple had won 15,000 baht from a Malaysian lottery. Watchrakor mentioned the family had been carrying debt from the bank and a farm credit cooperative while running a small grocery shop to support their household. The first prize money will help clear their debts and provide for their three children and his ailing father.
Watchrakor's wife Sudadoang expressed her joy and surprise at their good fortune. With the winnings, the couple plans to own their own home, expand their grocery business, and allow Watchrakor to open a motorcycle repair shop—his passion. They also intend to save money for their young children's education. "I'm so happy," she said. "I never thought this day would come."
