Police Smash Cambodian Motorcycle Theft Ring in Satahip

Satahip Police have broken up a motorcycle theft gang operating across the district, recovering a total of 11 motorcycles and frames and arresting three suspects accused of dismantling and reselling stolen vehicles.

On September 16, Satahip Police Sub-station Commander Komsorn Kamtoon ordered officers to investigate reports of three motorcycles stolen in the area. Investigators traced the perpetrators to Rayong Province and arrested Wandi, 19, a Cambodian national, and a 15-year-old girl at a rented room in Noen Phra Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong. Police recovered a Honda Wave 125 motorcycle, white and black, bearing a Chachoengsao license plate, which the owner had reported missing on September 11.

Under interrogation, both suspects admitted to stealing the motorcycle from Satahip Sub-district and claimed involvement in two additional thefts near Satahip Market. They sold the bikes to a dealer for approximately 5,000 baht each. Investigators traced the buyer and arrested Theerachat, 20, in Mae Nam Khoo Sub-district, Phlai Phrang District, Rayong, recovering a Honda Wave 110i motorcycle, white and black, with a Phichit license plate, reported missing on September 13.

Police also recovered a total of 11 motorcycles and frames from the area, some intact and others stripped of parts. The Cambodian suspect confessed to dismantling stolen motorcycles for parts and selling them for spending money and entertainment.

Initial charges include nighttime theft using a vehicle. Wandi faces additional charges for illegal entry or presence as a foreign national. Theerachat is being prosecuted for receiving stolen goods. Police are verifying the chassis and engine numbers of all 11 vehicles and checking whether any match additional reports of missing motorcycles in Satahip or neighboring areas. The public can visit Satahip Police Station during business hours with documentation to claim vehicles if they believe their motorcycles are among those recovered.
