PM Anutin Denies Cabinet Reshuffle Plans
PM Anutin rejected reports of an imminent cabinet reshuffle during a July 31 interview, saying all ministers are aligned with government objectives and denying plans to invite another party to fill a vacant ministerial post.
Prime Minister Anutin Chaiyawongse rejected rumors of a cabinet reshuffle during a July 31 interview at Government House, calling reports baseless and questioning where the media obtained such information. He stressed that it is only four months into his administration and that all ministers are trying to align with the government's objectives. When asked about the timing of any potential reshuffle, Anutin said the decision depends on circumstances and that he cannot be tied to a schedule, though he reserves the right to make changes whenever necessary if a minister harms the nation. He criticized media outlets for speculating without reliable sources, saying commentators lack actual information but attempt to forecast based on experience alone. Regarding the one vacant ministerial position, Anutin ruled out inviting another political party to join the coalition at this time. He stated that all ministries must produce results and that he is pushing himself and every department to deliver. When asked if any particular ministry needs pushing, he said all of them do, including his own, and noted that government performance has been continuous and improving. He dismissed accusations that he cannot command obedience, insisting that ministers must follow lawful orders, though illegal or harmful directives should not be executed. He concluded by expressing confidence in cooperation from civil servants, security agencies, and the private sector, saying good mutual trust has enabled the government's achievements.
