At 12:05 p.m. on August 7, 2025, at the Government House, Prime Minister Anuthina Charnveerakul addressed the incident from August 6 when the People's Movement for a Just Society (PMDF) and allied networks stormed the Ministry of Interior. He explained that the timing was unfortunate because all three deputy ministers were away from the office and he was attending to Myanmar's visiting president.
Protestors moved through the ministry building and pushing escalated until glass was broken, resulting in injuries. The Prime Minister apologized for the misunderstanding and confrontation that ensued. He announced that he had instructed Deputy Prime Minister Thongsak Thongsri to urgently resolve the issue, and stated that the government is willing to listen, explain, and meet with protesters whenever they wish. He emphasized that there is no reason for the government to avoid dialogue.
Although no ministers were present at the time of the incident to hold a formal meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry Prakran Bunyalak did engage with protesters, and mutual understanding has now been reached. The Prime Minister reiterated his apologies, noting that the Territorial Defense Volunteer officials were maintaining order in the ministry building but the pushing and shoving resulted in the escalation.
