On August 19, 2025, Lieutenant General Kritthapol Yissakhorn, commander of Police Region 5, announced the emergency response after receiving reports of severe flooding affecting Tha Wang Pha District in Nan Province. He instructed police officers to immediately engage in relief and assistance operations. Special Operations Unit officers, the Investigation Supervision Division, and Tha Wang Pha Provincial Police are deploying with two boats to help relocate belongings, distribute essential supplies, and aid residents affected by the flooding. Officers will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide ongoing assistance to vulnerable areas.
Police Region 5 has established a donation collection point for flood victims from August 19-22, 2025, at the public relations desk on the first floor of Region 5 headquarters in Muang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Donations can be coordinated by calling 053 140 052.
