Police Station's Missing Cat Mascot Found Safe
Loongloong, the beloved mascot cat of Chalong Police Station in Phuket, has been safely found after going missing for 15 days, thanks to a tip from a plant shop owner at Bang Cho intersection.
Good news has brought smiles to social media followers of Chalong Police Station after the beloved station cat, Loongloong, went missing. Chalong Police in Thalang District, Phuket had launched a search for the feline mascot, prompting the public to widely share posts and help look for the cat.
Shortly thereafter, Chalong Police announced through its Facebook page that Loongloong had been safely returned to the station following a tip from a good samaritan—a plant shop owner at Bang Cho intersection—who spotted the cat in the area and contacted police to bring it back to its duty station.
In a humorous post for followers, Chalong Police noted that upon checking Loongloong's leave record, the cat's absence totalled no more than 15 days, allowing the feline to retain its position as station mascot and narrowly escape formal disciplinary investigation.
The station also thanked the plant shop owner at Bang Cho intersection, media outlets, various social media pages, and all members of the public who shared information, provided tips, and helped search for Loongloong, making the mission a success.
The atmosphere at the station has livened up again with Loongloong's return to duty, ready to greet visitors and bring smiles to people conducting official business. Chalong Police confirmed that members of the public who miss the cat are welcome to visit and pet Loongloong as usual.
