Robinhood Refocuses on Food Delivery with Restaurant Parity Pricing

Robinhood, a Thai food delivery platform operated by Purple Ventures Limited, has announced a major strategic shift to refocus entirely on food delivery before expanding into related services in the future. The company is introducing a new philosophy under the concept "Full Value for Thai People," delivering through a "restaurant parity pricing" model where consumers get fair prices, merchants earn a guaranteed gross profit of 10.5% with no additional advertising fees, and riders receive transparent compensation starting at 37 baht per delivery using a one-rider-per-order system.

Morakot Yibinsoi, CEO of Purple Ventures Limited and Robinhood Delivery, explained that the company's focus is not merely on competing or offering promotions, but on designing an ecosystem where all parties can grow together sustainably. Previously, Robinhood had pursued a Super App strategy with over 100,000 partner merchants, but competitive pressures prompted the company to narrow its focus and emphasize transparency, clear pricing, and equitable returns for all stakeholders.

The company's three-pillar approach under "Full Value for Thai People" through restaurant parity pricing includes: merchants receive a 10.5% gross profit with no additional marketing fees, allowing them to sell at restaurant prices on the platform without passing all costs to consumers; consumers gain more options to order at restaurant prices as merchant participation grows, with over 5,000 shops expressing interest within one month; and riders earn compensation under a "higher per-delivery rate, more earnings" model with transparent 37-baht minimum fees and exclusive one-order-per-trip assignments to ensure quality service. Robinhood is concentrating initial efforts on building a strong ecosystem in Bangkok and its vicinity before further expansion.
