School Principal Found Dead at Home After Gunshot
A 56-year-old school principal in Kamphaeng Phet died from a gunshot wound at his home on September 7; police are investigating what they believe was a self-inflicted injury.
At 9:30 a.m. on September 7, Deputy Wachyanon Sorkadham of Thai Ngam Police Station in Kamphaeng Phet received notification from Thai Ngam Hospital that a man had suffered injuries at a residential building and later died. Officers rushed to the scene in Thai Ngam district to find the victim's relatives—his parents, siblings, and wife—gathered outside in distress. The deceased was identified as a school principal, aged 56, who lived at the house with five family members.
During the initial investigation of the residence and bedroom, officers found one spent shell casing and a firearm inside the room. Evidence was collected for legal proceedings. Relatives reported that on the day of the incident, the principal traveled to school with his wife, who worked at the same institution. Both spent approximately two hours there before leaving on normal terms. The victim drove home alone, and family members noticed he appeared stressed. While inside the house, his parents heard a single gunshot and rushed to the bedroom, where they found him injured. He was taken to hospital but later died.
Police initially believe the death was self-inflicted and are gathering evidence and interviewing relatives and close associates to determine the true motive behind the incident.
