Man Shot Dead in Phuket Home, Gun Found Nearby
A 51-year-old man was found dead from a gunshot wound at his Phuket home on September 3, with a firearm discovered nearby and police investigating whether it was suicide or foul play.
Police responded at 10 p.m. on September 3 to a report of a shooting death at a private residence in Phuket city. Officers led by Surasak Jaidie, commander of Phuket City Police Station, arrived to find the victim, identified as Sunthorn (surname withheld), age 51, shot in the mouth and dead in a seated position on a chair. A firearm was discovered near the body. Initial investigation revealed that the victim's wife heard gunshots and found him deceased. According to her statement, there had been no arguments or disputes before the incident. Police have secured the scene and are gathering evidence and statements from witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of the death.
