SEC Unveils Three Policies to Boost Thai Stock Market Confidence
Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission unveiled three policies to boost confidence and connect global capital to the Thai stock market. Speaking at the Bloomberg Global Policy Series 2026, SEC Secretary-General Poranong Bulsatrakul said the initiatives include a personal savings account scheme, a pathway for BOI-promoted firms to list, and preparations for tokenization. The measures aim to strengthen the domestic market while improving its integration with worldwide financial systems.
The SEC said it will focus on three main policies to upgrade the Thai capital market's potential:
1. Thailand Individual Savings Account (TISA), or personal savings and investment accounts, designed to encourage broader public access to long-term investment to enhance financial security and strengthen Thai society over the long term.
2. BOI to IPO, promoting high-quality, growth-oriented companies—especially those receiving investment incentives—to access capital through the capital market, supporting business expansion and sustained growth opportunities.
3. Tokenization, preparing Thailand's capital market to embrace future financial innovations by applying technology to develop new fundraising and investment formats, aiming to improve market efficiency and boost investor confidence.
Poranong Bulsatrakul added that driving these three policies is crucial for building internal strength in Thailand's capital market while simultaneously enhancing its connectivity with international financial markets amid a rapidly changing global economic environment.
'The SEC's key goal is to develop Thailand's capital market into an open system that can efficiently link with global capital markets and earn long-term trust from investors, grounded in a domestically strong and sustainably growing market,' she said.
