Second Victim of Udon Thani Tutoring Center Abuse Flees to Korea
A 15-year-old has alleged abuse by the owner of a military preparation tutoring center in Udon Thani, claiming he was locked up, handcuffed, blindfolded, and forced to drink murky liquid while being threatened. His mother withdrew him from school and took him to South Korea over safety concerns, joining another victim's family in seeking legal action. The center has been temporarily closed by local education authorities for operating without proper licensing.
A 15-year-old boy has joined a growing number of alleged victims coming forward with abuse allegations against the owner of a military preparation tutoring center in Udon Thani province. The boy claims he was locked up, handcuffed, blindfolded, doused with water repeatedly, forced to drink murky white liquid, and had his fingerprints and dust smeared on him to fabricate evidence of theft. His mother, who was working in South Korea at the time, withdrew him from school and brought him abroad out of fear for his safety.
According to the boy's account, the incident occurred in late January when he arrived at the center to visit a childhood friend. He was physically restrained by a large man he identified as his friend's father, then allegedly subjected to abuse by the center's owner and instructor. He was stripped, cable-tied at the wrists and thumbs, dragged to a bathroom, and subjected to water torture with his face covered and a shower hose sprayed at him. His motorcycle tires were punctured, and he was threatened with drugging, shooting, and disposal. He was also forced to drink the murky liquid and threatened with drug possession charges if he reported the incident.
The boy reported the abuse to Muang Udon Thani police on January 31, but the case has made no progress because the family left Thailand due to intimidation threats. His mother confirmed she will not settle or accept compensation and plans to pursue legal action jointly with other victims' families to ensure authorities investigate and prosecute those responsible. The Udon Thani Education Office found the center operates without proper licensing and ordered its temporary closure.
