Thailand's wine market shows steady growth, with 2025 import values up more than 6% to 4.72 billion baht, encouraging SJWD to proceed with the second phase of its wine storage facility. The company added space for 34,000 more bottles at its MeSpace Self Storage Siam branch, raising total capacity to 70,000 bottles to meet demand from wine collectors, enthusiasts, hotels and restaurants. SJWD co‑CEO Chavaninthorn Banditkrisada said the expansion aligns with market trends and aims for full occupancy within two years of the phase two launch, which began in Q2 2026. The first phase, opened in 2023, holds 36,000 bottles and is already fully leased. Combined, the two phases provide over 160 square meters of storage. The facility offers convenient access near Siam and Chulalongkorn, benefits from SJWD’s cold‑room expertise, includes built‑in shelving, accommodates bottles and cases, features backup power, flexible monthly or yearly plans, optional insurance, 24‑hour access via personal code, and security surveillance.

Thai Health Promotion Foundation Defends Committee Appointment Process

The spokesperson for the Thai Health Promotion Foundation said the appointment of its plan‑management committee follows regulations and is not a self‑appointed process, noting that the Deputy Prime Minister, not the deputy board chair, signed the order. He added that the foundation evaluates its performance every five years and reviews its 10‑year strategy, having undergone two external evaluations that praised its innovative work. The governance structure places the Prime Minister as board chair, with day‑to‑day authority delegated to the Deputy Prime Minister.

Revenue Dept's Outbound Tax Plan Hits Thai Tourism Stocks

Asia Plus says the Revenue Department’s proposal to charge 1,000 baht per outbound flight could dent short‑term confidence in Thai tourism stocks. The fee would add roughly 1,450 baht to the cost of a typical overseas trip, though analysts expect the impact on travel demand and hotel occupancy to be modest. The measure is still under public consultation and would take years to implement, if approved.
