Social Media Seller Denies Naming Any Temple or Abbot
Online amulet seller Athawat Sirisitthithongchai denied naming a specific temple or abbot after a livestream clip sparked speculation, claiming his vague remarks about a "clear" spirit medium were misinterpreted by followers.
Athawat Sirisitthithongchai, known as Boy Tha Phrajan, has posted a Facebook statement clarifying that he did not name any specific temple or abbot, following circulation of a livestream clip in which he discussed a spirit medium he said was "clearer than Somchai." In his three-point statement, he asked followers not to overinterpret his words or link him to issues he did not directly address. He denied ever requesting the creation of amulets from the temple in question and emphasized that if he intended to name someone, he would do so explicitly. During the livestream, in which he was selling amulets and chatting with followers, he had remarked: "There's one that's really clear. One that's much clearer than Somchai. I don't want to say, but I've only encountered that one. There's one that's really clear—even heavier than Somchai. I went once and I never went back. It's very clear. The temple is well-known and clear. If there were an investigation, this temple would definitely need to be looked at because it's so obvious. But I don't speak about it because I don't want to have problems with those people because they trade in these things. It's nothing to do with me, and I don't trade either. Originally they asked me to make amulets there and I didn't go. It's very clear. But these days the temple is quiet—no one goes anymore. There was a time when a famous person went and it became well-known, but now it's quiet."
