If you have an idea to do something for society and the environment but are looking for a space where it can grow and be put into action, this competition could be the starting point you’ve been seeking. Spark Hack Season #2 returns under the theme “Sparking the Possibility – Sustainable and Doable,” organized by the PTT Group together with the Mae Fah Luang Foundation, the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), and partner agencies. It opens opportunities for youth — students, learners, and the general public — to brainstorm and create ESG‑focused campaigns and innovations that will improve the quality of life in real communities across four Thai regions: Ban Ton Pueng in Chiang Mai’s Mae On district (North), Ko Sichang in Chonburi’s Sichang district (Central/East), the Fair Trade Organic Vegetable community enterprise in Sisaket’s Huay Thap Than district (Northeast), and Singhanakhon district in Songkhla (South). The challenge focuses on solving community problems through three main areas: highlighting local identity, strengthening community security, and building resilient, self‑reliant lifestyles.

Participants are encouraged to study the area and context, choose one location and one challenge, form a team, and prepare information about the concept or innovation they wish to develop. Selected teams will enter the Spark Lab round, receiving coaching and pitching support before advancing to the final pitch, where they must present a workable prototype with a live demo, demonstrating expected community impact and readiness to collaborate with the target community. The final event will take place within the Sustainability Spark by PTT Group 2027.

To join, teams must consist of three to five members aged 18–35 at the close of registration, each member belonging to only one team. Eligible participants include high school, vocational college, and university students (both bachelor’s and master’s levels), as well as startups and young professionals residing in Thailand throughout the project period. Submitted ideas must be original, not infringe on others’ intellectual property, and show evidence of research, experimentation, or testing that aligns with the chosen location and challenge.
