Supamas Israpakdee, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office overseeing the Public Relations Department, apologized with a wai gesture for the controversy sparked by the Chai Nat Provincial Public Relations Office's Facebook page, which posted a counter‑story about an elderly woman wading through flood water to buy fish sauce. She stressed that state media’s duty is to provide information, not to voice opinions that could upset the public, and she offered encouragement to officials to do their best. Speaking at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters on October 6, 2026 at 2:15 p.m., she said the incident was the first of its kind in Chai Nat and that no similar problems had been found elsewhere, while urging all provincial PR units to help people whenever possible, regardless of whether it falls under their official duties, because everyone is now a government civil servant. She added that after the floods she had instructed state media, especially NBT, to reschedule programming and deliver timely flood updates so the public could get information and request assistance.
