Supanida Ketu-Thong came from behind to defeat teammate Busanan Ung-Bamrungphan 2-1 in sets, advancing to the second round of the 2026 BWF World Championships at Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi, India, which runs from August 17-23. In the women's singles opening round on August 17, the two Thai players faced off with Busanan ranked 16th in the world and Supanida ranked 15th. Supanida proved the stronger player, narrowly winning the first set before dominating the final two sets with scores of 20-22, 21-11, and 21-9, securing her spot in the round of 32. Supanida will next face the winner between Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark and Keisha Fatimah Azzahra of Azerbaijan.
