Suspect Reconstructs Gold Shop Heist, Remains Silent

Police brought a 56-year-old suspect to a gold shop in Pathum Thani on September 16, 2566, to reconstruct the armed robbery. The suspect, wearing the same black hoodie used during the crime, demonstrated how he pushed open the door, brandished what appeared to be a firearm, and threatened staff before fleeing with 52 baht of gold necklaces valued at 3.5 million baht. Throughout the reconstruction, he remained silent and offered no explanation for his actions. Officers have charged him with armed robbery and disguising his face, and he will be held for further investigation.

Suphat, the shop manager, praised the police and media for their swift work in capturing the suspect within just two days. She noted that staff remain anxious following the traumatic incident but that the company has provided support. The shop is now implementing stricter security measures, including a door-lock system that allows staff to observe customer behavior before granting entry. The manager revealed that the crime occurred because staff had left the door unlocked while receiving a large shipment from the head office and forgot to lock it afterward.

Chayut, the shop owner, expressed surprise at how quickly police identified and apprehended the suspect. He attributed the rapid resolution partly to multiple CCTV cameras, despite challenges with poor night-time footage. He has instructed all branch employees nationwide to heighten their vigilance and security protocols.
