Tank Ammunition Found Wedged in Tree in Buriram Forest
A 105-millimeter anti-tank round was safely removed from a tree in Buriram's Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary after residents discovered it wedged among the branches. Thai military EOD teams completed the operation on August 11 without incident.
On August 11, 2569, residents of Ban Lamnang Rong in Nondindaeng District, Buriram Province reported finding a suspicious object resembling a bomb wedged in a tree within the Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary. The discovery was made on August 10, 2569. The Second Area Command ordered local military units to investigate and assess the situation. Inspection confirmed the object was a 105-millimeter anti-tank round (TK-M490A1). Security perimeters were established to prevent public access to the hazardous munition. The Buriram Provincial Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was tasked with the removal operation. On August 11, 2569, the EOD team successfully completed the removal of the ammunition following standard procedures. The operation was conducted to ensure public safety and prevent injury from the explosive device found within the wildlife sanctuary, with all tasks completed without incident.
