Teen Dies Day After Birthday in Rayong Truck Crash

A 16-year-old boy who celebrated his birthday just one day earlier died when his motorcycle collided with a truck in heavy rain in Rayong province. He was riding with a 15-year-old girl, who was seriously injured. The accident occurred at around 2 p.m. on September 20 near the Mab Kha traffic light, on the outbound lane toward Nikhom Phatthana District. Rescue workers from the Siam Rayong rescue unit responded to a report of a motorcycle hitting the rear of a truck with two people critically injured.

At the scene, rescuers found both a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy unconscious and unresponsive. Paramedics provided first aid to the girl and rushed her to hospital. The boy received CPR, and emergency teams from Chulabhorn Hospital were called to assist. Despite their efforts, the boy died from severe blood loss and critical injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that heavy rain was falling at the time. Both riders wore rain gear and were heading toward the Mab Kha intersection when poor visibility from the rain prevented the rider from seeing the truck ahead. He struck the truck's rear with significant force, causing severe damage to the motorcycle.

The victim's older sister said with sadness that her brother had celebrated his 16th birthday just the day before on September 19. She had always warned him to drive carefully and not speed, but never imagined that just one day after his birthday, he would be in a fatal accident.
