An 18-year-old stabbed her Navy officer father with scissors during a home dispute in Chonburi Province, leaving him severely wounded. The depressed teenager was found at the scene as her father was rushed to hospital with wounds to his arm
On August 6 at 9:50 p.m., Pol. Lt. Col. Wutthipong Somjai, superintendent of Plutaluang Police Station, received a report of a serious stabbing at a residence in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. Officers and rescue teams from the Royal Thai Navy Hospital and Sattahip rescue units rushed to the scene.
Inside the home, blood was scattered throughout. The victim, Petty Officer Chad (surname withheld), 52, from the Royal Thai Navy's operational fleet, was found lying in a pool of blood with severe wounds to his arm and left rib cage from a sharp object. He had lost a significant amount of blood and was immediately given first aid before being rushed to the Royal Thai Navy Hospital.
Police found blood-stained scissors at the scene, which they collected as evidence. The suspect, the 18-year-old daughter, was standing in front of the house in a state of fear. According to preliminary questioning, the victim stated that he had argued with his daughter before the incident occurred, with only the two of them present in the home at the time, as his wife was working in Pattaya City.
Investigators learned that the daughter suffers from depression and frequently argues with her father. Police will conduct a detailed investigation and obtain further testimony from the victim once his condition stabilizes before proceeding with legal action.
