Thai Badminton Star Vitidsak Reaches Asian Games Final
Thailand's Vitidsak Photikhun defeated Indonesia's Alwi Farhan 21-13, 21-15 in the Asian Games badminton semifinal on September 28, becoming the first Thai man to reach an Asian Games singles final.
In the 20th Asian Games badminton competition at Ishinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium on September 28, Thailand's world No. 2 Vitidsak Photikhun faced Indonesia's world No. 10 Alwi Farhan in the men's singles semifinal. Vitidsak played strongly throughout, taking the first game 21-13 and the second game 21-15 to secure his advance to the final. This makes Vitidsak the first Thai men's singles player to successfully reach an Asian Games badminton final. He will await the winner of the match between Singapore's Loh Kean Yew and South Korea's Lim Jongeun in the championship round.
