Bangkok Opens Flood Relief Process Across All 50 Districts

Bangkok has expanded its disaster zone declaration to cover all 50 districts effective September 25, 2025, allowing district offices to respond quickly to the flooding crisis. However, the declaration does not automatically entitle all households to aid—affected residents must undergo a survey and verification process by their district office and obtain a disaster victim certificate before assistance is considered.

Affected residents must first report damage to their district office, which will conduct a fact-finding investigation and issue a victim certificate. They should then prepare required documents including a flood damage form, identity card copy, house registration copy, the victim certificate, a damage log, property deed or occupancy document, and photos of damage.

Assistance available under Bangkok's criteria includes: housing repair materials up to 49,500 baht per household; temporary accommodation costs up to 3,000 baht per family or 3,000 baht per month for up to two months for total damage; occupational capital funds up to 11,400 baht if tools are destroyed; injury compensation up to 2,300 baht per person; medical treatment up to 2,000 baht for outpatients or 4,000 baht for inpatients; funeral costs up to 29,700 baht; family support for deceased up to 29,700 baht per family; living expenses between 1,800 to 3,800 baht depending on damage level; and essential household items as per specified conditions. Aid is assessed individually based on actual damage, victim qualifications, and supporting documents rather than paid as a flat amount to all households.
