Pichit Phoararik, major shareholder of JAS and MONO, presented 2 million baht to the Thailand men's national volleyball team as a reward and encouragement after they finished fifth in the 2026 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship (AVC Men’s Volleyball Continental Championship 2026), praising the players, coaches, and staff for their dedication and full effort for the country throughout the tournament.

He said the award aims to energize the men's team to further develop their abilities, build on their continental experience, and prepare for upcoming international competitions. In addition to this 2 million baht support for the men's team, Pichit has already given 14 million baht to the Thailand women's national volleyball team, bringing total cash rewards for both national volleyball teams to 16 million baht. He also provided sports science support during the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship and arranged meals for the volleyball players during the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, to enhance their physical readiness and daily well-being throughout the competition.

This support reflects the 'Stronger Thailand' concept, which seeks to empower Thai athletes to move forward strongly both on the field and in all aspects of preparation. Pichit believes international success stems not only from on-court performance but also from behind-the-scenes backing that enables athletes to serve Thailand to their fullest potential, highlighting the private sector's role in boosting Thai sports through morale, athlete development, and various forms of assistance so Thai athletes can steadily improve their performance on the international stage.

The Thailand Volleyball Association expressed its gratitude to Pichit Phoararik for his support of both the men's and women's national volleyball teams, noting that the backing provides important motivation for coaches, players, and all involved to continue fulfilling their duties for the national team to the best of their ability, and to jointly create achievements and pride for Thailand moving forward.

EC Official Seeks Supreme Court Review for Direct Graft Cases

Former Election Commission member Somchai Srisuthiyakorn and a group of reserve senators petitioned Thailand’s Supreme Court to overturn a previous Appeals Court ruling that blocks citizens from filing direct corruption complaints against the Election Commission. They argue the ruling forces complainants to go through the National Anti‑Corruption Commission and the Attorney General’s Office, a process that can exceed three years, and cite irregularities in the 2024 senatorial election as further justification. The senators urged the Supreme Court to review the decision and to investigate the former Appeals Court president for possible misconduct.
