Thai Chef Ships 1,000kg Curry to Sydney Festival at Million-Baht Cost
A Thai content creator spent 1 million baht airfreighting 1,000kg of curry sauce to Sydney's Thailand Grand Festival, where Australian ingredient costs run three times higher than in Thailand.
Content creator Peal Nakorn revealed shipping costs of 1 million baht to fly 1,000 kilograms of curry sauce to Australia for the Thailand Grand Festival 2026 in Sydney. In a video posted on September 18 on the Ple Nakorn Facebook page, she detailed plans to bring Mother June's curry to sell at the festival held September 19-20 at Tumbalong Park in Sydney. She also highlighted how ingredient costs in Australia are significantly higher than in Thailand—for example, eggplants cost around 120 baht per kilogram there. The event begins today, September 19, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
