Thai Comic Noey Chuen Yim Discharged, Doctors Order No Alcohol
Thai comedian Noey Chuen Yim has been discharged from Bang Yai Hospital after a sudden admission for weakness and anemia. An ultrasound revealed his liver is twice normal size due to fat buildup, prompting doctors to order a complete ban on alcohol. His wife, Poo Niyada, says he needs constant care at home to monitor medication and prevent drinking.
Noey Chuen Yim was allowed to leave Bang Yai Hospital and continue his recovery at home, though he still requires close supervision. Poo Niyada explained that the ultrasound showed fat permeating his liver, making it double the usual size, and doctors warned that even a small amount of alcohol could trigger shock, leading to cirrhosis necessitating abdominal drainage and bed rest. He is permitted to go home tomorrow but must have someone monitor his medication and assist him because his legs feel weak from certain medicines. The couple worries about finding constant care, as their children have returned to work. In a later Facebook post, Poo Niyada said Noey Chuen Yim has indeed come home and still needs round‑the‑clock help for medication and mobility, emphasizing that alcohol must be strictly avoided—a difficult task because he keeps asking for a drink and becomes irritable when denied. She asked friends and relatives who visit not to bring up or joke about alcohol, and thanked those who helped her return to Thailand, noting she will arrive late tomorrow night.
