Thai Defender Vichain Ready for Asian Games 2026 in Japan
Thai defender Vichain Anuram says he's physically and mentally ready for the Asian Games 2026 football tournament in Nagoya, as the national team intensifies training ahead of departure to Japan on September 13.
Vichain Anuram, a rising defender for the Thai national team, has confirmed he is fully prepared physically and mentally ahead of the football competition at the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. On September 8, the Thai squad continued training at the BGTC 3 facility to prepare for the men's football tournament.
Training sessions included morning fitness work and evening tactical drills focusing on various strategies and concepts. Vichain said he is ready in all aspects and aims to improve on his performances with the U-20 team, particularly in passing and aerial play. "Playing at my age group, I am among the older players, so I try to help the younger ones," he explained. "Working with Coach Wang has been great—I have participated in several camps and understand the system well. All three opposing teams are strong, and we are studying their strengths and weaknesses."
Goalkeeper Sarswat Podesan noted that all opponents are formidable, but the team is focused on improving their own performance and adapting during this camp. He emphasized the need to strengthen pressing and attacking approaches, adding that Yaskhon Burapa is a standout striker with decisive attacking play, making him a crucial player.
The Thai team will train in Thailand until September 12 before departing for Japan on the morning of September 13. Thailand is in Group A alongside Japan, Kyrgyzstan, and Hong Kong in a round-robin format, with group champions and runners-up advancing to the knockout stage.
