Ratchasima College's marching band won gold at the World Music Contest 2026 in the Netherlands, scoring 95.750 points to defeat international competitors and earn the Best Wind award at the prestigious four-yearly competition.
Ratchasima College's marching band (RS Band 2026), representing Nakhon Ratchasima province and Thailand, won the marching band championship at the World Music Contest (WMC) 2026 in Kerkrade, Netherlands, with a score of 95.750 points. The ensemble earned gold medals, the Day Prize for highest daily score, and the Best Wind award at one of the world's most prestigious marching band competitions.
This victory showcased Thai youth potential on the global stage. WMC, called the "Olympics of wind and percussion music," is held every four years and brings together leading marching bands from around the world to compete under rigorous judging standards.
The 2026 WMC marked its special 75th anniversary celebration, with over 20,000 musicians from 28 countries participating. Judges evaluated every element in detail: sound quality, musical accuracy, performance technique, and the precision and elegance of marching formations and movement.
RS Band's score of 95.750 reflects excellence across all dimensions—skill, creativity, coordination, and flawless artistic expression—defeating international competitors decisively. Behind this success lay months of intensive training, sacrifice from every student, dedication from coaches and parents, and support from all sides that brought RS Band to world standards.
This achievement is not just pride for the school but for Nakhon Ratchasima province and all Thai people who saw "Thailand" on the global competition stage, proving that "Korat youth, Thai youth, are second to none" when given opportunity, support, and full commitment.
This victory marks another chapter in Thai marching band history and demonstrates that Thai youth can stand among the world's best.
