Thailand-China Sign 15 Cooperation Agreements on Final Day of Anutin Visit
Thailand and China signed 15 cooperation agreements during the final day of Thai PM Anutin's official visit, covering areas from trade and public health to nuclear research and space exploration.
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister, along with their delegation, completed the final day of an official visit to the People's Republic of China. The key highlight was the strengthening of bilateral relations and enhanced cooperation through the signing of 15 agreements and discussions with Chinese leaders at the Great Hall of the People.
In the morning, the Prime Minister and his wife traveled to Tiananmen Square to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Heroes Monument. The delegation then proceeded to the Great Hall of the People for talks with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National People's Congress of China. Chinese Premier Li Qiang subsequently hosted the Thai Prime Minister with a formal reception in the North Hall, featuring an honor guard review before full-scale bilateral discussions commenced.
Following the talks, both leaders witnessed the signing of 15 memoranda of understanding and agreements covering multiple dimensions of cooperation, with ministers from relevant Thai and Chinese agencies as signatories. The agreements encompassed cooperation in anti-money laundering and combating financial terrorism; public health; aquatic product exports and standards; rural water management and irrigation; nuclear fusion research and exchange; Beidou satellite navigation system applications; higher education; and a joint Thai-China deep space exploration laboratory. The pacts represent a comprehensive upgrade of bilateral ties spanning technology, security, and economic sectors.
