Thailand Extends Aid Program with 1,000 Baht Payment
Thailand's Thai Help Thai Plus phase 2 program will distribute a one-time 1,000-baht payment usable for two months, with welfare card holders receiving an additional 700-baht top-up on their regular entitlement.
Government spokesman Ekkaphop Piapphiset announced on September 18 at Government House that the Thai Help Thai Plus phase 2 program will provide a single 1,000-baht payment usable for two months, maintaining the existing 60:40 benefit ratio. State welfare card holders will receive an additional 700-baht top-up alongside their regular 300-baht entitlement, bringing the total to 1,000 baht. The spokesman confirmed that no supplementary budget funding is required, as the amount has been calculated within existing resources and broadens access to the program. Finance Ministry officials indicated they would discuss implementation details with the Finance Minister during the afternoon meeting.
