Thailand PM Joins UN General Assembly Debate on Global Cooperation

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Foreign Minister joined the opening of the general debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) at UN headquarters in New York on September 22 at 9:00 a.m. New York time. Government spokesman Ekkaphop Pierprasert announced that the conference's main theme is "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All," serving as an important forum where leaders and representatives from countries worldwide exchange views on global situations and challenges while promoting international cooperation.
The 81st UN General Assembly is presided over by Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Bangladesh's Foreign Minister, with participation from major world leaders including UN Secretary-General António Guterres, US President Donald J. Trump, Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Bhutan Prime Minister Dasho Sherring Tobgay, Armenia Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.
Spokesman Ekkaphop noted that Thailand's Prime Minister's participation this year holds special significance as it coincides with the 80th anniversary of Thailand's membership in the United Nations, reaffirming Thailand's role as a middle-power nation in advancing important global agendas on the international stage.
