Enduro Rider Nearly Swept Away in Sudden Flood
An enduro rider nearly lost his motorcycle to a flash flood in Rayong's Khao Yai area when heavy rain triggered a dangerous surge of murky water across a trail, but quick action from friends and a nearby tree prevented disaster.
An enduro rider had a harrowing escape from a sudden flash flood while on a trail trip with friends in Khao Yai, Khao Chamao District, Rayong Province. On September 22, Facebook user Piangkaew Nalinrat, an enduro enthusiast, posted shocking video footage showing the group riding their motorcycles through rough terrain when heavy rain suddenly struck, followed immediately by a fast-moving flash flood with murky brown water. During the crossing, one of the riders accelerated to traverse the surging floodwater but hit a deep spot where the motorcycle's front end sank nearly halfway into the water. Fortunately, a nearby tree and another friend standing watch helped prevent the vehicle from being swept away, and the group managed to pull the motorcycle back to safety.
