Two Department of Special Investigation (DSI) officers were arrested on September 12, 2025, in connection with a civil service recruitment quota bribery scheme. The arrested officers are Ittiphon (surname withheld), 49, a special case investigation officer in the Foreign Affairs and International Crime Division, and Anurak (surname withheld), 46, a special case investigation officer with the DSI. According to reports, the two DSI officers acted as intermediaries, collecting and transferring cash between clients and a middleman known as "Sergeant Phichit." They charged applicants seeking quota increases an additional 250,000 baht on top of the original 250,000 baht fee, claiming it was an additional service fee. Evidence gathered includes Line audio recordings, photographs, timestamps, and other documentation that led to the arrests. Investigators are preparing to expand the investigation to other individuals suspected of involvement, believing additional government officials at various levels are part of the corruption network.
