Motorcyclist Killed After Hitting Dog, Hit Again by Pickup
A 36-year-old motorcyclist died on Phaholyothin Road in Pathum Thani after swerving to avoid a dog, crashing, and being struck by an Isuzu pickup truck.
On September 12, 2569, Khlong Luang Police received a report of a motorcycle accident involving a collision with a dog, the rider crashing, and a second impact from a vehicle on Phaholyothin Road in Khlong One Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. Police rushed to the scene with traffic officers, a medical examiner from Thammasat Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, and volunteer staff from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation.
At the scene, authorities found the body of Pruetthinan, age 36, lying in the middle of the road with a severed left leg. Nearby was an overturned Honda Wave motorcycle with an Ayutthaya license plate, damaged from the impact. About 50 meters away, an Isuzu pickup truck with a Bangkok license plate was parked nearby, showing damage to its license plate and front bumper. The pickup driver, Wattanasai, age 47, remained at the scene to give a statement to police.
Khlong Luang Police documented the scene as evidence and arranged for the volunteer foundation to transport the body for a detailed autopsy. Police will also contact the victim's family to receive the body for funeral rites according to custom.
