Two EVs Collide Head-On on Wet Road, One Dead
Two electric vehicles collided head-on on a rain-slicked highway in Kalasin province on November 3, killing one male driver and injuring two women. The crash involved a BYD and a GWM sedan, both registered in Roi Et, which sustained heavy frontal damage. Rescue workers used cutting equipment to free the trapped driver. Police are investigating whether wet road conditions from heavy rainfall were the primary cause.
Heavy rain made roads slippery, causing two electric sedans to collide head-on with severe damage. One male driver was killed at the scene and two women were seriously injured. Officials are urgently investigating. On November 3, 2026, Kalasin Highway Rescue received a report of a two-car collision on a road in Huai Pho subdistrict, Mueang district, Kalasin province, just before Pradit Bridge. At the scene, rescuers found two electric vehicles — a blue BYD and a white GWM, both with Roi Et plates — with their front ends completely destroyed. The male driver of the BYD was trapped and pronounced dead; rescuers used cutting tools to extract his body. Two injured women were transported to hospital. The crash is initially attributed to heavy rainfall making the road surface slippery, though investigators are still examining the exact cause before finalizing their report and taking legal action.
