Vietnamese Woman Dies After Extreme Weight Loss Diet
A 26-year-old Vietnamese woman died from a brain hemorrhage while exercising after an extreme diet combining vegetable restriction with daily high-sodium and fried breakfast foods weakened her blood vessels.
Doctors have highlighted a cautionary case involving a 26-year-old Vietnamese woman who died suddenly from a brain hemorrhage after losing consciousness while exercising with a jump rope at home. Although she had successfully controlled her diet and lost weight, physicians noted that extreme weight loss combined with certain breakfast foods may have accelerated arterial hardening and blockage. Vietnamese media reported that during her weight loss period, she ate primarily vegetables and grains, avoiding meat for approximately two months. The incident occurred while she was exercising, when she suddenly experienced severe headaches and lost consciousness. Her husband found her and rushed her to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save her due to severe brain bleeding. After reviewing her history, doctors discovered that she regularly consumed two breakfast items: salted egg porridge paired with puerh tea, and fried egg rolls, eaten almost daily during her diet. Doctors explained that salted eggs contain high levels of cholesterol and sodium, and consuming them in large quantities continuously can increase the risk of arterial hardening. Fried foods are high in fat, which can accumulate along blood vessel walls and increase the risk of arterial blockage. Physicians further noted that when blood vessels are weakened by poor eating habits, intense exercise such as rope jumping can cause blood pressure to spike rapidly and trigger brain hemorrhage. Experts emphasize that weight loss should be balanced, include all five food groups, and avoid regularly consuming foods high in fat, sodium, and cholesterol to reduce long-term cardiovascular disease risk.
