Woman Arrested Transporting 4,000 Methamphetamine Pills for 1,000 Baht
A 30-year-old woman was arrested on Highway 317 in Saraek province transporting 4,000 methamphetamine pills hidden under her car seat; she was paid just 1,000 baht to deliver the drugs worth 40,000 baht total.
On September 4, the Central Investigation Bureau, working with the Highway Police Bureau and Saraek Provincial Police, expanded an investigation into drug trafficking networks in the region and arrested Nawarat (surname withheld), 30, on drug charges. Officers stopped her silver Honda City on Highway 317 between Saraek and Chanthaburi in Wang Nam Yen district and found 4,000 methamphetamine pills packed in two bundles hidden under the driver's seat. Police also seized the vehicle and a mobile phone as evidence.
During preliminary questioning, Nawarat admitted the methamphetamine was hers and that she had been hired to collect the drugs from a woman known as 'Miss Ploy.' She said she received the two bundles—valued at 20,000 baht each—through Messenger and was paid 1,000 baht for transporting them.
Authorities charged her with possession and distribution of a Category 1 narcotic and handed her to Wang Nam Yen Police in Saraek province for legal proceedings. Investigators said they are pursuing other suspects involved in the operation.
