Defense Ministry Launches Flood Response System With Four Agencies
Thailand’s Defense Ministry has launched a new flood‑response platform called Traffy Fondue Repair Build Fight Flood, together with four ministries and Bangkok’s city government. The system lets the public report flood‑related issues, directs them to the proper agencies, and tracks assistance from request to completion. It aims to address both immediate flood relief and rapid recovery once waters recede.
On October 2, 2026, the Defense Ministry joined forces with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to introduce the 'Traffy Fondue Repair Build Fight Flood' system. The platform serves as a central channel that connects public needs with capable agencies, ensuring reports are received, forwarded, acted upon, and monitored until finished. It supports both emergency flood relief and swift rehabilitation after water levels drop. Defense Minister General Anuday Bunthamjarern emphasized that protecting the public requires tackling today’s problems while preparing for immediate recovery, rather than waiting for the crisis to pass. Under the system, citizens can submit details, photos, and locations of issues; the information is routed to relevant agencies based on the problem type, which then coordinate, act, and follow up to completion. The Ministry of Labor will mobilize skilled workers and vocational networks to inspect and repair equipment and vehicles. The Ministry of Education will engage vocational colleges in recovery efforts. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security will focus on vulnerable groups, including the elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged community members. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will link situational data and public needs to its assistance mechanisms, while the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) provides technical support for the Traffy Fondue platform. The Defense Ministry and armed forces will supply personnel, tools, vehicles, and disaster‑relief capabilities as needed, working alongside specialized agencies to ensure resources are delivered quickly and accurately to those affected.
