Recently married actor Nadech Kugimiya has jumped straight into a demanding work schedule, juggling multiple film and television projects. He appeared at a press conference for the film "Henry's First Dates" at One Bangkok shopping center, where he discussed his reasons for accepting so many assignments.
Nadech expressed frustration that all his projects happened to premiere within a single one-to-two month period. "I've been working throughout the year shooting one story at a time, but everything ended up coming out at the same time. I'm worried viewers will get confused about what's what. That's all. But it's okay," he said, referencing "Henry's First Dates" and two other works arriving within the same window.
When asked if he ran low on money after his recent wedding, Nadech revealed the real reason for his workload: "I'm thinking I need to build a house soon. I'm taking on a lot of jobs because I want to build a home. This might be the biggest financial commitment in my life—even more than the wedding. A house is an investment for 60, 70, or 80 years. I want to invest wisely and make it worthwhile. Building a home together is another goal in our marriage."
He indicated the budget could start in the tens of millions of baht. Unlike buying a ready-built house, Nadech chose to purchase vacant land and construct from scratch, similar to his brother-in-law's approach. He noted concerns about Bangkok's future flooding risk but said they haven't made final decisions about relocation.
Regarding concerns that marriage might reduce his work opportunities, Nadech disagreed. "I feel fortunate," he said, noting that in modern times an actor's relationship status no longer defines their artistic value—the quality of their work does. He credited his wife's positive influence, describing her as beautiful and supportive of his career.
