Buriram Hosts Chiangrai in Thai League Season Opener
Buriram United host Chiangrai United on Friday in round two of Thailand's top-flight league, with defending champions Buriram coming off an impressive 3-1 win behind new Portuguese coach Mario Silva.
The BYD Thai League One 2026-27 season is underway, with this week marking round two of matches. Buriram United, known as the Lightning Castle, will host visiting Chiangrai United, the Roaring Lion, on Friday, September 11 at 6:00 p.m., broadcast live on PLAY SPORTS 2.
Buriram opened their new season impressively despite parting ways with English manager Mark Jackson. Striker Guillermo Bissoli scored a hat-trick on debut, leading the defending champions to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Sukhотhai. Songkhla drew their last match 1-1 against Maha Sarakham after falling behind, thanks to Thiago Rodrigues da Silva's equalizer.
